A friend of mine once called me nosey. "Not nosey," I corrected her, "just curious." I love to visit homes--old ones and new ones--to see how people live. Here is a small look inside my house. With seven people and five furry friends, I tend to decorate in earth tones-- hides the dirt! ; ) -- and natural things: plants, candles, things found on my walks. My style is very simple, but I do have a few precious knickknacks: a small collection of birds, a tiny wooden hedgehog given to me by a friend, a miniature English cottage hand-painted by another friend, and a row of teensy Wade china figurines on my kitchen windowsill courtesy of Red Rose tea. There are piles of books on end tables and yarn on the piano (up high so Edna the pup doesn't get into it). There are jars of colored pencils and paintbrushes and sunflowers. And a row of red ceramic canisters on my kitchen counter. A cheerful yellow tea kettle sits on the back burner of my stove. My house isn't particularly beautiful or artful--it won't make for good photos on Pinterest--,but it's mine, and it's home. ♥
Home - the magic word. I also love to see how others arrange their houses.(love the pillow!)
ReplyDelete"The magic word", so true.
DeleteThanks, Lisa. I got the pillow at Target a few months ago.
I love this glimpse into your home. Like you I'm curious about how others live. One of my favorite activities is walking at dusk and sneaking peaks through open blinds. I can even remember as a kid driving through River Oaks in Houston (the Bushes Sr. have a house there--can't just drive through anymore) at night just so we could peek in windows. Your bunny is adorable! The cat and dog are pretty cute too!
ReplyDeleteMarianna, I do that too!
DeleteOh, forgot...yes, that is a picture of me on my blog and thank you!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness. I LOVE YOUR FOX PILLOW!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd all of your furry friends, but especially the guy in the middle.
I have a Beagle named Waffles. :))) You home is so calm and balanced.
Thank you! ♥ I picked up the fox pillow at Target. Waffles is such a cute name for a bunny...or a beagle!
DeleteHow lovely to be gifted this glimpse into your home. I love all the light, and the calm ambience. Thank you for inviting us in :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sarah. ♥
DeleteThanks for the pictures. :-) I have always loved maidenhair ferns.
ReplyDeleteI love maidenhairs, too--one of my favorite plants, but hard to grow in this house. My cats like to eat them, and of course, you have to be vigilant about watering them.
DeleteI'm nosy as well and love to see people's homes and how they decorate. Lucky for me Frodo isn't interested at all in yarns!!! You have a lovely home :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Karen! ♥
DeleteYour home looks so peaceful and friendly. And clean! (I really struggle in that area -- it seems like I clean and 15 minutes later it's a mess) I am also guilty of peeking in to homes when I walk the dog at night. Do your pets always get along so well?
